About André Hueston Mack
Sommelier, graphic designer and winemaker, André Hueston Mack left his “desk job” in the early 2000s to pursue a passion for wine. Shortly thereafter, he became the first African American to win the title of Best Young Sommelier in America (2003). Mack has worked both as a sommelier at Thomas Keller’s world-renowned restaurant The French Laundry and as Head Sommelier at Keller’s other Michelin 3-Star restaurant, Per Se, in New York City. In 2007, Mack’s dreams of winemaking came into fruition when he founded Mouton Noir Wines (Black Sheep Wines). His wines are currently on the menus of America’s top restaurants and bars.
